Here is a information about Dell monitors.

The 22" monitors have a 6 bit panel TN , and the 24" has an 8 bit panel.
Dell is going to introduce a new 2408, in the future. I would wait.

Go dual 22", thats what I am running. Found a great little free program "Display Fusion" that allows separate wallpaper on each or one big to span both.
Got a great screensaver that runs across both as well :-)
Watching TV or a DVD on one monitor while working on the other is cool.....or I can put my chat boxes on the second screen out of the way while playing on the web.
It's the way to go.
